Child & Brain Development
About
Danielle Roubinov is interested in how experiences of stress affect children’s bodies and minds during sensitive periods in the first several years of life. She studies how childhood adversity can affect early biological and behavioral mechanisms that increase children’s risk for developing poor psychological health, as well as different protective factors that promote resilience. Having a parent with depression is one specific type of early adversity that may affect children’s development, but not all children are negatively affected. A particular focus of Roubinov’s research is on developing and evaluating personalized, dyadic interventions for parents with depression and their children.
