Ms. Dorothy Richard is a Research Fellow in the Impact Evaluation Laboratory at the Economic and Social Research Foundation
As she joined the lab, Ms. Dorothy has worked on different projects titled “Overcoming Budget, Availability, and Attention Constraints to Healthy Diets in Tanzania” funded by the International Development Research Center (IDRC), “Raising Money for the State: Strengthening Tax Compliance in Tanzania” and “The Domestic Workers Project” both funded by Swiss National Science Foundation.
Periodically, along with fellow researchers from the Lab, Ms. Dorothy co-instructs training on the Introduction to Impact Evaluation Methodology and supervises the Small Grants Initiative which aims to build the capacity of junior and mid-career researchers interested in sharpening research skills using rigorous methods of Impact Evaluation. These training sessions and small grants are funded by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
She also curates Utafiti Wetu virtual workshop sessions, a 90-minute virtual workshop on Zoom, bringing together scholars from both within and outside of Africa to present their research to an audience primarily composed of academic faculty, both undergraduate and graduate students from Tanzania, as well as policy researchers from the government and private sector, among other participants.
Ms. Dorothy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Arts in Applied Economics both from the University of Dar es Salaam.
