About

Judy Cha aims to make nanostructures of topological materials for fundamental studies and electronic applications.

Her group focuses on realizing a one-dimensional topological superconductor for fault-tolerant quantum computations. Novel electronic states can emerge in 1D geometry at the nanoscale, such as the Majorana fermion excitations. One way to achieve this is to induce superconductivity in topological crystalline insulator nanowires. Cha’s group has demonstrated the first synthesis and transport measurements on nanowire forms.
