Kathleen Sandusky (she/her) is AI Communications Lead at CIFAR.
Kathleen creates and implements marketing and communications strategies to advance CIFAR’s leadership in AI research, including the Pan-Canadian AI Strategy and Learning in Machines & Brains program.
Kathleen has worked in marketing and communications for more than two decades, primarily in the fields of healthcare and research. She has led award-winning campaigns and provided communications strategies for philanthropic initiatives raising millions of dollars. Prior to joining CIFAR, she worked in media relations and knowledge translation at ICES, an independent, non-profit organization that produces research on health services and outcomes using Ontario’s repository of population-wide health data.
She holds a degree in English literature from the University of Toronto, as well as post-graduate certificates in public relations, public engagement, knowledge translation, and volunteer management.
