About
Scott Mitchell is the Manager of Research Impact, where he will provide institutional support and guidance to strategically develop, execute and evaluate a range of activities to advance the impact of CIFAR’s research programs and our portfolio of impact clusters. He is a knowledge mobilizer and research implementation specialist with more than 20 years of experience designing innovative strategies to support evidence-informed policy and practice.
Prior to joining CIFAR, Scott was a Knowledge Broker with the Ontario Centre for Learning, Research and Innovation in Long-Term Care at the Schlegel-University of Waterloo Research Institute for Aging. In this role, he led programs aimed at improving healthcare education, reducing social isolation among older adults living with dementia and enhancing workplace psychological health and safety in long-term care.
Previously, as Director of Knowledge Transfer at the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario, Scott focused on promoting equity and social inclusion for people living with mental illness, improving access to mental health services and supporting large-scale health system transformation initiatives.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing from York University and a Certificate in Non-Profit Leadership for Impact from the University of Toronto.
