A feature story in Vanity Fair published December 15, 2021 details the experiences of trauma-affected COVID orphans, an emerging—and growing—demographic. The story notes that it was CIFAR fellow Charles Nelson who first coined the term “COVID orphans,” and who is leading the early research into this terrible hidden cost of the pandemic. In the shadows: the orphans COVID left behind.
