Il est particuli&egrave;rement reconnu pour ses travaux sur les &laquo;&nbsp;angles magiques&nbsp;&raquo; dans le graph&egrave;ne et autres mat&eacute;riaux minces, comme le trichlorure de chrome, qui peuvent transformer un isolateur en un supraconducteur. Buckley&nbsp;&raquo;, affirme Jarillo-Herrero. &laquo;&nbsp;Je suis profond&eacute;ment touch&eacute; par cet hommage et par le fait qu&rsquo;il vienne si t&ocirc;t dans ma carri&egrave;re. &Eacute;videmment, tout cela est le fruit d&rsquo;un travail d&rsquo;&eacute;quipe r&eacute;unissant des &eacute;tudiants et des postdoctorants exceptionnels dans mon laboratoire, et du soutien solide qu&rsquo;offre le MIT. Je me sens tr&egrave;s privil&eacute;gi&eacute; et je ressens beaucoup de gratitude. De plus, ayant &eacute;t&eacute; moi-m&ecirc;me un &eacute;tudiant universitaire de premi&egrave;re g&eacute;n&eacute;ration, j&rsquo;esp&egrave;re que ce prix encouragera les jeunes &agrave; faire carri&egrave;re en physique et en mat&eacute;riaux quantiques.&nbsp;&raquo;<\/p>\n<p>&laquo;&nbsp;Le prix Buckley de l&rsquo;APS est g&eacute;n&eacute;ralement consid&eacute;r&eacute; comme le prix le plus prestigieux dans le domaine de la physique de la mati&egrave;re condens&eacute;e&nbsp;&raquo;, dit <a href=\"https:\/\/cifar.ca\/fr\/biographie\/louis-taillefer\" >Louis Taillefer<\/a>, codirecteur du programme Mat&eacute;riaux quantiques du CIFAR. &laquo;&nbsp;Sa d&eacute;couverte r&eacute;volutionnaire de la supraconductivit&eacute; dans le graph&egrave;ne bicouche torsad&eacute; en 2018 a ouvert la voie &agrave; une toute nouvelle interface entre le monde du graph&egrave;ne et des &eacute;lectrons &agrave; interaction forte, une nouvelle fronti&egrave;re interdisciplinaire dans le domaine des mat&eacute;riaux quantiques. La nouvelle plateforme pour l&rsquo;&eacute;tude et l&rsquo;ajustement du comportement des &eacute;lectrons dans la mati&egrave;re aura des r&eacute;percussions sur tous les aspects de notre nouveau programme Mat&eacute;riaux quantiques du CIFAR, qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agisse entre autres de la supraconductivit&eacute;, des liquides de spin ou des mat&eacute;riaux topologiques.<\/p>\n<p>Le prix Oliver E. Buckley de physique de la mati&egrave;re condens&eacute;e, nomm&eacute; ainsi en l&rsquo;honneur d&rsquo;un ancien pr&eacute;sident de Bell Labs et assorti d&rsquo;une bourse de 20&nbsp;000&nbsp;$, est d&eacute;cern&eacute; annuellement par l&rsquo;<em>American Physical Society<\/em> &agrave; un chercheur dont les travaux ont eu un impact consid&eacute;rable sur le domaine de la physique de la mati&egrave;re condens&eacute;e.
