{"id":21611,"date":"2019-07-26T17:15:48","date_gmt":"2019-07-26T21:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cifar661.wpengine.com\/cifarnews\/2019\/07\/26\/perceptions-de-merite-et-inegalites-sociales-persistantes\/"},"modified":"2020-11-19T14:30:36","modified_gmt":"2020-11-19T19:30:36","slug":"perceptions-de-merite-et-inegalites-sociales-persistantes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cifar.ca\/fr\/cifarnews\/2019\/07\/26\/perceptions-de-merite-et-inegalites-sociales-persistantes\/","title":{"rendered":"Perceptions de m\u00e9rite et in\u00e9galit\u00e9s sociales persistantes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Le 22 f\u00e9vrier 2019, les boursiers du programme <a href=\"https:\/\/cifar.ca\/fr\/recherche\/programmes\/bien-%C3%AAtre-collectif\">Bien-\u00eatre collectif<\/a>\u00a0du CIFAR ont \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9s \u00e0 faire une pr\u00e9sentation au groupe de travail sur la diversit\u00e9 et l\u2019inclusion mis sur pied par les sous-ministres du gouvernement du Canada. Compte tenu de l\u2019engagement du gouvernement \u00e0 appuyer la diversit\u00e9, \u00e0 promouvoir l\u2019inclusion et \u00e0 favoriser la coh\u00e9sion sociale, les boursiers ont rapport\u00e9 les principales conclusions du programme et ont discut\u00e9 avec les membres du groupe de travail des causes des in\u00e9galit\u00e9s sociales persistantes au Canada afin de mieux les faire comprendre aux responsables des politiques. Ce rapport met en lumi\u00e8re les r\u00e9sultats cl\u00e9s de leurs pr\u00e9sentations. Il s\u2019agissait du premier engagement d\u2019une s\u00e9rie de rencontres visant \u00e0 appliquer concr\u00e8tement les r\u00e9sultats du programme Bien-\u00eatre collectif du CIFAR.<\/p>\n<h2>R\u00e9sultats cl\u00e9s<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Le jugement des \u00e9lecteurs sur le \u00ab\u00a0m\u00e9rite\u00a0\u00bb de divers groupes de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 les am\u00e8ne \u00e0 soutenir des politiques sociales de redistribution ou \u00e0 s\u2019y opposer. Ce jugement est fortement influenc\u00e9 par la perception de l\u2019\u00ab\u00a0appartenance\u00a0\u00bb de ces groupes \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Ceux dont l\u2019appartenance est jug\u00e9e moins grande sont consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme des groupes qui m\u00e9ritent moins de d\u00e9penses sociales cibl\u00e9es. Lorsque ces groupes r\u00e9clament des ressources de l\u2019\u00c9tat, leurs revendications sont souvent per\u00e7ues comme une preuve suppl\u00e9mentaire d\u2019un manque d\u2019appartenance.<\/li>\n<li>La croissance des in\u00e9galit\u00e9s en mati\u00e8re de revenus dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 n\u2019a pas n\u00e9cessairement entra\u00een\u00e9 un soutien accru des politiques sociales de redistribution, car ce soutien d\u00e9pend \u00e0 la fois de la perception des in\u00e9galit\u00e9s et de l\u2019attestation des probl\u00e8mes pos\u00e9s par ces in\u00e9galit\u00e9s. Les personnes qui pr\u00e9f\u00e8rent la pr\u00e9sence de hi\u00e9rarchie sociale ou qui croient que le milieu de travail est m\u00e9ritocratique, que la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 est juste et que la mobilit\u00e9 sociale est fond\u00e9e sur le m\u00e9rite ont tendance \u00e0 ne pas appuyer les politiques de redistribution. En fait, leur soutien diminue davantage lorsqu\u2019ils aspirent \u00e0 une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 m\u00e9ritocratique, alors que les personnes qui souhaitent \u00e9galement une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 m\u00e9ritocratique mais qui pensent que la mobilit\u00e9 sociale pose probl\u00e8me manifestent un plus grand soutien pour de telles politiques.<\/li>\n<li>Notre sentiment d\u2019identit\u00e9 vient en partie des groupes dont nous faisons partie, et nous souhaitons fortement prot\u00e9ger cette identit\u00e9 de groupe. Bien que la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 s\u2019entende sur les horreurs des injustices pass\u00e9es, il existe des diff\u00e9rends quant \u00e0 leurs liens avec les iniquit\u00e9s actuelles. Plut\u00f4t que de susciter l\u2019empathie et d\u2019encourager la r\u00e9paration, le rappel d\u2019une injustice historique peut d\u00e9clencher le sentiment que notre identit\u00e9 sociale est menac\u00e9e et entra\u00eener une r\u00e9ponse d\u00e9fensive, soit de bl\u00e2mer les victimes, de nier les dommages ou de rel\u00e9guer l\u2019injustice \u00e0 un pass\u00e9 lointain.
