{"id":21619,"date":"2019-04-10T20:29:07","date_gmt":"2019-04-11T00:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cifar661.wpengine.com\/cifarnews\/2019\/04\/10\/premi-re-photographie-d-un-trou-noir\/"},"modified":"2025-12-18T04:54:38","modified_gmt":"2025-12-18T09:54:38","slug":"premi-re-photographie-d-un-trou-noir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cifar.ca\/fr\/cifarnews\/2019\/04\/10\/premi-re-photographie-d-un-trou-noir\/","title":{"rendered":"Premi\u00e8re photographie d\u2019un trou noir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Des membres du programme Extr\u00eame Univers et gravit\u00e9 du CIFAR ont particip\u00e9 \u00e0 la collaboration internationale qui a pris ces photos historiques<\/p>\n<p>Pour la premi\u00e8re fois, une \u00e9quipe internationale de chercheurs a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 une image du plus invisible des objets\u00a0: un trou noir.<\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs du projet <a href=\"https:\/\/eventhorizontelescope.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Event Horizon Telescope<\/a>\u00a0(EHT) qui se compose de huit t\u00e9lescopes terrestres situ\u00e9s aux quatre coins du globe ont d\u00e9crit leurs r\u00e9sultats lors de six conf\u00e9rences de presse internationales tenues le 10\u00a0avril. Ce m\u00eame jour, les r\u00e9sultats ont aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s en d\u00e9tail dans une s\u00e9rie d\u2019articles publi\u00e9s dans Astrophysical Journal Letters.<\/p>\n<p>La photo prise par l\u2019EHT r\u00e9v\u00e8le un trou noir supermassif au centre d\u2019un anneau orange brillant. Cet anneau de lumi\u00e8re entoure l\u2019horizon des \u00e9v\u00e9nements, une barri\u00e8re au-del\u00e0 de laquelle la gravit\u00e9 est si forte que rien ne peut s\u2019en \u00e9chapper, m\u00eame pas la lumi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cifar.ca\/fr\/biographie\/daryl-haggard\/\">Daryl Haggard<\/a>, Chercheuse mondiale du CIFAR de la cohorte de 2017 et professeure adjointe de physique \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill, fait partie des plus de 200\u00a0astronomes qui ont contribu\u00e9 aux articles publi\u00e9s aujourd\u2019hui. Selon elle, la photo de l\u2019EHT aura des r\u00e9percussions consid\u00e9rables pour les scientifiques du programme <a href=\"https:\/\/cifar.ca\/fr\/recherche\/programmes\/extreme-univers-et-gravite\">Extr\u00eame Univers et gravit\u00e9<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Cela nous aidera \u00e0 comprendre comment la masse p\u00e9n\u00e8tre dans les trous noirs\u00a0\u00bb, dit-elle. \u00ab\u00a0Voil\u00e0 l\u2019occasion de nous lancer et de comprendre la physique des mat\u00e9riaux au voisinage d\u2019un trou noir \u2013 de comprendre v\u00e9ritablement l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me dans son ensemble.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le trou noir dans la photo publi\u00e9e aujourd\u2019hui se trouve dans la galaxie\u00a0M87, \u00e0 quelque 55\u00a0millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re. Haggard a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 des recherches approfondies sur un autre trou noir capt\u00e9 par le t\u00e9lescope, connu sous le nom de Sagittarius A* (prononc\u00e9 A-\u00e9toile).<\/p>\n<p>Les donn\u00e9es sur ce trou noir n\u2019ont pas encore \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9es, mais le seront bient\u00f4t, affirme Haggard. L\u2019analyse des donn\u00e9es se r\u00e9v\u00e8le plus difficile, car A* se cache dans notre Voie lact\u00e9e \u2013 une galaxie d\u00e9bordant d\u2019objets c\u00e9lestes.<\/p>\n<p>La nouvelle d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui confirme aussi la puissance de la technologie utilis\u00e9e pour capter l\u2019image\u00a0: l\u2019interf\u00e9rom\u00e9trie \u00e0 tr\u00e8s longue base. <a href=\"https:\/\/cifar.ca\/fr\/biographie\/matt-dobbs\/\">Matt Dobbs<\/a>, Boursier au sein du programme Extr\u00eame Univers et gravit\u00e9 du CIFAR et professeur agr\u00e9g\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill, participe \u00e0 la conception et \u00e0 l\u2019exploitation d\u2019instruments comme ceux utilis\u00e9s pour capter les images de l\u2019EHT. Bien qu\u2019il n\u2019ait pas contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019analyse des donn\u00e9es pour ce projet, il a men\u00e9 des travaux approfondis au p\u00f4le Sud o\u00f9 se trouve l\u2019un des t\u00e9lescopes de l\u2019EHT (les autres se trouvent au Chili, au Mexique, en Espagne, dans la zone continentale des \u00c9tats-Unis et \u00e0 Hawaii).<br \/>\n\u00ab\u00a0Cette image marque le d\u00e9but d\u2019une nouvelle \u00e8re\u00a0\u00bb, \u00e9crit-il dans un courriel. \u00ab\u00a0Depuis longtemps, nous observons les effets des trous noirs dans la transmission d\u2019\u00e9missions galactiques et la formation de la structure \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle dans le cosmos.
