Ce prix s&rsquo;ajoute &agrave; la liste croissante de scientifiques affili&eacute;s &agrave; l&rsquo;ICRA qui ont re&ccedil;u un prix Nobel.<\/p>\n<p>Les travaux d&rsquo;avant-garde du Dr Wineland ont ouvert la voie &agrave; une nouvelle &egrave;re de recherche en physique quantique &ndash; un domaine scientifique ax&eacute; jadis sur la th&eacute;orie en raison des d&eacute;fis que repr&eacute;sentait la r&eacute;alisation d&rsquo;exp&eacute;riences. Dans le monde subatomique, les particules quantiques individuelles sont difficiles &agrave; isoler et perdent leurs propri&eacute;t&eacute;s myst&eacute;rieuses quand elles interagissent avec le monde ext&eacute;rieur ce qui, en retour, explique pourquoi il est tr&egrave;s difficile de confirmer de nombreuses th&eacute;ories par l&rsquo;exp&eacute;rimentation.<\/p>\n<p>Le Dr Wineland et les membres de son laboratoire, &agrave; Boulder au Colorado, ont pi&eacute;g&eacute; des atomes porteurs d&rsquo;une charge &eacute;lectrique dans des champs &eacute;lectriques et ont men&eacute; des exp&eacute;riences sous vide &agrave; des temp&eacute;ratures extr&ecirc;mement basses. &Agrave; l&rsquo;aide de faisceaux laser, l&rsquo;&eacute;quipe a pu positionner ces ions &agrave; des niveaux d&rsquo;&eacute;nergie diff&eacute;rents simultan&eacute;ment. En pi&eacute;geant les ions de la sorte, les chercheurs ont pu &eacute;tudier les propri&eacute;t&eacute;s quantiques des particules afin de mieux comprendre les r&egrave;gles physiques gouvernant le monde subatomique. De plus amples recherches dans le domaine pourraient ouvrir la voie &agrave; la fabrication d&rsquo;ordinateurs quantiques ainsi que d&rsquo;horloges d&rsquo;une pr&eacute;cision extr&ecirc;me qui pourraient fixer la prochaine norme de temps.<\/p>\n<p>Le Dr Wineland a fait partie du comit&eacute; consultatif du programme Informatique quantique de l&rsquo;ICRA de 2002 &agrave; 2006.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cifar.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/wineland-lab-nobel.jpg\" data-displaymode=\"Original\" alt=\"Nobel pour David J.
