Cette technologie a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e en collaboration avec Mark Schmidt, titulaire d\u2019une chaire en IA Canada-CIFAR, Amii.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"font-ttnorms\">1QBit, une entreprise de logiciels de Vancouver, a vu dans la COVID-19 une excellente occasion d\u2019utiliser son outil d\u2019aide \u00e0 la d\u00e9cision, XrAI. Cet outil, qui am\u00e9liore la pr\u00e9cision et la constance de l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation des radiographies thoraciques, aide les \u00e9quipes m\u00e9dicales \u00e0 y rep\u00e9rer des anomalies pulmonaires. Int\u00e9gr\u00e9 aux syst\u00e8mes d\u2019information clinique existants, l\u2019outil r\u00e9duit au minimum les perturbations dans le flux de travail des cliniciens en fournissant une interpr\u00e9tation pr\u00e9cise en temps r\u00e9el de la radiographie.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"heading-medium\">XrAI est le premier logiciel radiologique bas\u00e9 sur l\u2019IA \u00e0 recevoir l\u2019homologation d\u2019instrument m\u00e9dical de classe III de Sant\u00e9 Canada.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"font-ttnorms\">Habituellement, un diagnostic de COVID-19 r\u00e9sulte d\u2019un \u00e9couvillonnage des sinus et d\u2019un test de d\u00e9tection des acides nucl\u00e9iques (PCR). Cependant, la demande mondiale pour ce type de test met de la pression sur la cha\u00eene d\u2019approvisionnement, sans compter qu\u2019il n\u2019est pas offert dans tous les pays. Les radiographies thoraciques peuvent confirmer la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019une pneumonie, le principal sympt\u00f4me de la COVID-19 et le sympt\u00f4me respiratoire associ\u00e9 au virus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"font-ttnorms\">\u00ab XrAI ouvre une nouvelle \u00e8re d\u2019outils d\u2019IA sophistiqu\u00e9s en m\u00e9decine. Alors que nous d\u00e9ployons XrAI au sein d\u2019un certain nombre d\u2019autorit\u00e9s sanitaires au Canada, les retomb\u00e9es positives d\u2019un outil d\u2019IA \u00e9volutif seront particuli\u00e8rement ressenties par les professionnels de premi\u00e8re ligne pendant cette pand\u00e9mie \u00bb, d\u00e9clare Deepak Kaura, directeur du marketing, 1QBit. \u00ab L\u2019adoption de l\u2019IA au service de la sant\u00e9, qui met en \u00e9vidence le leadership du Canada dans ce domaine, est le fruit d\u2019une collaboration entre le milieu universitaire, l\u2019industrie et le gouvernement pour am\u00e9liorer la prestation des soins. \u00bb\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"font-ttnorms\">L\u2019outil a identifi\u00e9 correctement les pneumonies associ\u00e9es \u00e0 la COVID-19 dans 100\u00a0% des cas tir\u00e9s de donn\u00e9es accessibles au public.\u00a0<a class=\"color-red\" href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalsupercluster.ca\/covid-19-program-page\/xrai\/\">Plusieurs organismes de sant\u00e9 canadiens<\/a>\u00a0(page en anglais) le d\u00e9ploient actuellement dans le cadre du programme COVID-19 de la Supergrappe des technologies num\u00e9riques du Canada, un programme qui soutient la recherche et le d\u00e9veloppement de solutions \u00e0 la COVID-19. XrAI a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00a0mis au point \u00e0 partir de trois ann\u00e9es de donn\u00e9es longitudinales de diverses origines ethniques, g\u00e9ographiques et d\u00e9mographiques provenant de plus de 500\u00a0000\u00a0radiographies anonymis\u00e9es.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"heading-medium\">Une avanc\u00e9e positive pour l\u2019IA au service de la sant\u00e9<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"font-ttnorms\">Mark Schmidt voit cet outil comme une avanc\u00e9e positive pour l\u2019IA au service de la sant\u00e9. Une approche nationale coordonn\u00e9e et int\u00e9gr\u00e9e de l\u2019IA, comme celle pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e par le\u00a0<a class=\"color-red\" href=\"https:\/\/cifar.ca\/fr\/ia\/strategie-pancanadienne-en-matiere-dintelligence-artificielle\/b-tir-un-syst-me-de-sant-apprenant-pour-les-canadiens\">groupe de travail sur l\u2019IA au service de la sant\u00e9 mis sur pied par le CIFAR<\/a>, favoriserait l\u2019\u00e9mergence d\u2019innovations similaires au Canada. Mark Schmidt fait partie des dizaines de titulaires de chaires en IA Canada-CIFAR qui m\u00e8nent des recherches pour lutter contre la pand\u00e9mie de COVID-19.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"font-ttnorms\">\u00ab\u00a0Les avantages d\u2019un syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 int\u00e9gr\u00e9 en mati\u00e8re d\u2019IA sont \u00e9vidents. Il pourrait potentiellement r\u00e9duire le nombre de cas o\u00f9 un m\u00e9decin rate quelque chose d\u2019important et contribuer \u00e0 all\u00e9ger la charge de travail des radiologistes dans certaines r\u00e9gions du Canada (comme dans les zones rurales) o\u00f9 les radiologistes sont tr\u00e8s recherch\u00e9s.
