Certification recognizes CIFAR’s leadership in building a positive, inclusive and innovative working environment

CIFAR has achieved a Great Place to Work® (GPTW) certification for 2023, after a thorough and independent review conducted by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada.

This is the second year in a row that our organization has been recognized by GPTW. CIFAR’s mandate and work culture includes a commitment to improving EDI, and various committees dedicated to year-round wellness workshops and community-building events.

The certification is based on direct feedback from CIFAR employees, provided as part of an extensive and anonymous survey about their workplace experience. Great Place to Work® is considered the global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures.

“Since joining CIFAR in 2022, I have been impressed by our staff’s unwavering commitment to our mission, and our deeply collaborative and supportive environment that this shared mission has created,” said Stephen Toope, CIFAR’s President & CEO.

Nancy Fonseca, Senior Vice-President of Great Place to Work® Canada, says that a great workplace is about the level of trust that employees experience in their leaders, the level of pride they have in their jobs, and the extent to which they enjoy their colleagues.

“Our data shows that great workplaces benefit from stronger financial performance, reduced turnover, and better customer satisfaction than their peers. What’s more, work environments with trust at the foundation are ripe for innovation, agility, resilience, and efficiency,” Fonseca said.

“I would like to congratulate all of CIFAR’s staff,” said Toope. “This certification is a testament to their work in fostering a positive, inclusive, and innovative workplace.”
