About
Élise Devoie studies climate change in permafrost environments. Her research group focuses on responsible and productive ways to learn about water below the ground (either as liquid or ice) in cold regions. She brings together the worlds of modelling, fieldwork, and community partnership to try to solve real-world problems facing people who live in Canada’s North. Her team aims to learn from the past and present through monitoring, historical data, and sampling in order to make predictions about the future in these vulnerable and rapidly changing environments.
