About

Dr. Abdourahmane Ndong is a dedicated academic and practicing surgeon, specializing in both general and laparoscopic surgery. He is an Assistant Professor at Gaston Berger University, where he not only teaches but also pioneers advancements in minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Ndong’s academic journey includes a Doctor of Medicine, a Master of Public Health, and a diploma in General Surgery, all earned at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal. His commitment to enhancing surgical practices took him to Queen Mary University of London, where he completed a Master of Science in Laparoscopic Surgery and Surgical Skills. He further pursued a postgraduate diploma in Medical Education from the University of Bordeaux. Currently, Dr. Ndong is completing a PhD in Public Health.
As a researcher, Dr. Ndong focuses on global surgery, clinical research, and the integration of advanced technologies in medical training. Since 2023, he has been affiliated with The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), solidifying his place in the international academic community. His passion for technology has led him to explore innovative tools like virtual reality to enhance surgical education. Through his efforts, Dr. Ndong is committed to training the next generation of surgeons in Senegal and across Africa, striving to increase access to life-saving surgical procedures in his community.
