About
Andrea Riedel is an experienced advancement leader with a strong track record of driving transformational fundraising initiatives within complex research and academic institutions.
Prior to joining CIFAR, Andrea held senior roles at the University of Toronto, most recently at the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, where she led the principal gift strategy, collaborated closely with researchers on interdisciplinary proposals and
developed high-impact donor experiences. In her previous role within the Division of University Advancement, she played a central role in shaping institutional fundraising priorities leading into Canada’s largest campaign, Defy Gravity.
Andrea brings a collaborative and systems-focused approach to her work, with expertise in stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and donor communications. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Western University and has completed specialized training in project management and communications at the University of Toronto.
