Christina Cuomo is a senior group leader at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard whose research group uses genomic methods to characterize the evolution of fungal pathogens.
She incorporates the latest innovations in sequencing technology and computational approaches into her work and sets the standard for the production and analysis of fungal genomes.
Studying species across the fungal kingdom, she has produced major insights into the unique features of pathogenic species, how genomes evolve, variation with pathogen populations and genes involved in host interaction. Her work is highly collaborative, engaging a global network of computational biologists, experimental scientists, clinicians and field researchers.
