About
25 years working on Fisheries management in particular on Mediterranean side, on socioeconomics aspects. I focussed my work to understand the connexion between fishing activity as an economic activity and the live of marine resources exploited by fisherman. Using social and economic indicators and models.
I contributed to the establishment of Marine Protected Area in Morocco with the Social acceptably studies by users. I lead a very interesting and exciting experience on studying interaction between cetaceans and fishing activities, in Morocco and with the collaboration of other countries (experts).
In 2021, I wrote a book with three Spanish scientists named «Alboran Sea: Ecosystems and Marin resources», edited by Springer Nature. The book composed by four blocks (1) oceanographic, geological, and ecological contexts, (2) biodiversity and ecosystems distribution, (3) fisheries resources and aquaculture, and (4) conservation, management, and marine policies.
This book comes to fill a tremendous gap in the synthesis of more than a century of multilateral research. Nevertheless, a challenge for sustainability science and sustainable development of a region is to promote new perspectives in the interaction between scientists and the other actors involved in the governance process.
