The CIFAR RBC Research & Inclusive Talent Fund is advancing our understanding of AI’s impact on society, supporting research to create a more sustainable environment and ensuring more diverse representation in the scientific talent pool. RBC Foundation has been a valued partner of CIFAR’s for more than 35 years and is currently supporting CIFAR’s work in advancing international research excellence and collaboration, driving the broader research community towards more equitable, diverse and inclusive (EDI) practices.
Launched in 2021, this five-year initiative includes support for outreach, recruitment and retention of underrepresented communities and provides unique training, mentorship and leadership opportunities at all stages of a researcher’s career. To date, more than 2,800 youth and adults have participated in CIFAR-RBC AI training and EDI initiatives. In just two years, we have significantly increased the number of researchers from underrepresented communities and look forward to continuing to expand representation and diversity.
CIFAR is thrilled to count RBC, the RBC Foundation and Borealis AI as partners in this work. The CIFAR RBC Research & Inclusive Talent Fund is encouraging more diverse representation and inclusive practices in the field and will ultimately contribute to better outcomes.
