Deep Learning + Reinforcement Learning (DLRL) Summer School 2024: celebrating 20 years of training the world’s best emerging talent!

Applications are now open. Join us for ten incredible days of learning and networking.

CIFAR’s annual Deep Learning + Reinforcement Learning (DLRL) Summer School brings together graduate students, post-docs and professionals to cover the foundational research, new developments and real-world applications of deep learning and reinforcement learning.

Since 2005, when CIFAR’s Learning in Machines & Brains program hosted its first Deep Learning + Reinforcement Learning (DLRL) Summer School in Toronto, a thriving community of graduates has grown year-over-year, with our alumni now leading some of the world’s top tech firms and university labs.

Today DLRL is a keystone next-generation offering of the CIFAR Learning in Machines & Brains program and the CIFAR Pan-Canadian AI Strategy, hosted each year in partnership with Canada’s three national AI institutes, who take turns hosting each year: Amii in Edmonton, Mila in Montreal and the Vector Institute in Toronto. This year’s twentieth anniversary will be co-hosted by CIFAR and the Vector Institute in Toronto, Ontario, Canada — a rich, globally-renowned ecosystem of AI innovation.

Over the course of ten intensive days (July 8-17, 2024), hundreds of the world’s most talented trainees in machine learning will learn from Canada CIFAR AI Chairs and other renowned experts across industry and academia. They will join talks about cutting-edge topics in machine learning, such as prompt engineering, AI and music and self-driving labs, and gain access to networking sessions, social events and a dynamic career fair. They will also have the opportunity to enjoy a weekend exploring and discovering Toronto in the summer.

Apply Now! Applications close February 16, 2024.

Presented by CIFAR and the Vector Institute in collaboration with Amii and Mila.
