- Publication Officer, Knowledge Mobilization
Johnny is the Knowledge Mobilization (KM) Publications Officer at CIFAR, where he contributes to the development and implementation of KM publication plans, analyzes key sector stakeholders for new and existing research programs, and supports the Director of Innovation in the development of KM plans.
Prior to joining CIFAR, Johnny was the Director of New Initiatives for the Personal Genetics Education Project (pgEd) at Harvard Medical School, where he led efforts to build partnerships with industry, policymakers, educators and faith groups, and provided policy and scientific research for pgEd’s educational materials and Congressional briefings. Before pgEd, he was a Science Writer and Project Manager at the Journal of Visualized Experiments.
Johnny holds a PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, with a secondary field of study in Science, Technology and Society, from Harvard University. While in graduate school, he was also a lecturer, writer and editor for Science in the News, a student-led science communications organization. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of Toronto.
