About
I study what helps societies become more fair and less divided. My research looks at micro- and meso-level forces that can reduce prejudice, violence, and discrimination. One part of my work focuses on how to leverage social forces and institutions—like schools, governments, or workplaces—to create environments that foster equality and improve relationships between groups. I design and test these ideas using experiments in both real-world settings and controlled lab studies. Another line of research explores the role of emotion, especially anger, in driving social change. While anger is often seen as disruptive, I examine how it can be a constructive force when expressed by disadvantaged groups seeking justice. At its core, my research asks: What practical changes—whether institutional, social, or emotional—can help create more inclusive and just societies?
