CIFAR Supports Ukraine

As a global research organization, CIFAR condemns the military invasion in Ukraine. We are deeply dismayed at the impact that this unprovoked attack is having on innocent people in the country and the countless and needless stories of human tragedy unfolding in Ukraine.
We live in a time when the world needs science more than ever. The serious global challenges facing humanity, climate change, ending this pandemic and preparing for the next one, inequality, antibiotic resistance and many others, demand that scientists everywhere work together for a common purpose.
The unprovoked war in Ukraine and in other countries experiencing war and conflict, only hinders our ability to work together and deflects already scarce resources into needless destruction and human tragedy.
CIFAR remains committed to global research collaboration, it is the lifeblood of science and is the very best of humanity.
