Gerald Heffernan, former CIFAR Board member and one of our cherished supporters, recently passed away at the age of 104. Throughout his life, Jerry was a passionate advocate for science, and champion of philanthropy’s power to create transformative change – generously supporting CIFAR and countless other causes. In 2017, CIFAR detailed Jerry’s contributions towards addressing the most important questions facing science and humanity. His support and impact have only been compounded since that time.

It has been our great privilege to have Jerry at our side for nearly four decades. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Heffernan family.
