
Lissa Matyas

About
Lissa Matyas was appointed to the new position of Vice-President, Global Government Affairs, effective April 11, 2022. Lissa was previously the President of Science&TechCollab, helping clients secure public funding to build large-scale, international R&D partnerships. Prior to this role, she was the Vice President of International Partnerships at Mitacs, where she led the organization’s international strategy. The international partners she negotiated with included the National Science Foundation, UKRI, CNRS, Helmholtz, Max Planck, JSPS and the National Research Councils of Korea, Singapore and South Africa.
Prior to joining Mitacs, Lissa was the Director of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at McGill University for 8 years. Lissa also spent more than 10 years in research administration at Concordia University and is fluently bilingual.
Lissa is currently Co-Chair of the United Nations General Assembly Science Summit, providing her with a unique perspective on global research priorities and the international research funding ecosystem. She holds a Master of Science in Administration (Marketing) and an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from Concordia University.
